Planning Process

An updated planning application which is based on the revised wind turbine layout has recently been submitted to the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP). This updated planning application will be assessed under the Development Facilitation Program (DFP) pathway, which is now one of the assessment pathways for wind farm planning permit applications in Victoria following the introduction of VC261 (gazetted 4 April 2024). The planning application will still be assessed against the provisions of the Pyrenees Planning Scheme, with particular reference to Clause 52.32 and the Policy and Planning Guidelines for the Development of Wind Energy Facilities in Victoria, which sets standards for the following:

  • Sound compliance.
  • Landscape Impact.
  • Impact to Flora and Fauna.
  • Shadow flicker.
  • Impact to Cultural Heritage.
  • Electromagnetic Interference.

Planning Application Documentation

The Department of Transport and Planning are currently seeking input from local residents regarding the planning application. Formal notice has recently been delivered to all owners and occupiers in the vicinity of the wind farm, and all planning documents relating to the wind farm can be found below.
